Won 2 x the award as solution of the year 2021.
The profile specialist Küberit is happy about two awards for its products: The design wall profiles won the "German Housing Award" as Solution of the Year 2021 and the stair nosing profile solution 'round corners' also received the award Solution of the Year 2021 in the "Houses of the Year" competition in the category Flooring, Design Flooring & Interior Wall Design.
"These two awards mean a lot to us, we are thrilled! Both are a strong recognition of our commitment to develop products that ensure a high level of safety over a long period of time, are sustainably produced and at the same time can be installed without errors thanks to convenient techniques," Olaf Holtschmidt, technical manager at Küberit, comments on the award ceremonies.
Solution of the Year 2021 in the Ceiling, Wall & Floor category
Innovation is a decisive value-creation factor in residential construction. That is why this year, in addition to sophisticated architecture, five outstanding products and services from companies involved in construction were awarded the Solution of the Year 2021 prize for the first time at the German Housing Construction Competition. "Profiles and systems usually play a minor role in residential construction. To now be awarded Solution of the Year 2021 in this demanding competition with our innovative design wall profiles for wall coverings from 3 to 9.5 mm is therefore something very special for us," Lars Maier, Sales Manager Germany at Küberit, is pleased to say. Only those who were nominated by an entrant in the category "Residential Buildings of the Year" were eligible to participate; a jury of experts decided on the award winners.
Houses of the Year - Solution of the Year 2021
For the third time, the Callwey publishing house has chosen products that make an important contribution to home decor in the "Houses of the Year - Solution of the Year" competition. "The award for our Küberit Profile 871 EV - many know it as the round corner for stair nosings - in the category of floor coverings spurs us on to continue developing profiles with clearly recognisable added value for builders and craftsmen. The award makes it clear how important profiles and systems are for the professional installation of floor coverings - even if they appear inconspicuous," said Lars Maier. In the selection process, emphasis was placed on sustainability, innovative use of materials and creative handling of structural situations.

Due to the current raw material situation, we are now compelled to implement a price adjustment before the end of the year. While we have so far been able to absorb the substantial price increases in all areas through extensive optimization measures, the situation for our main raw material aluminum has changed dramatically. As of 01.10.2021, new prices apply and all previous prices and price lists lose their validity. (See price chart - graphic; source: https://www.aluminiumkurse.com/.)
Due to the uncertain market situation, we will provide you with the new price lists Küberit-Best 159 and Profile Systems 159 in electronic form only (e-paper or pdf-file).
If you have an extended login access, you can call up the price lists directly in the protected area on our website.

Küberit is consistently sharpening its profile as a company with a special focus on the environment and sustainability. Awareness has changed, the company states in this regard. It is becoming very important for every company to deal with these issues and with the values behind them: "We believe that we have to act early," says company spokesman and sales manager Lars Maier.
From its role as market and innovation leader, the manufacturer of flooring and stair nosing profiles sees itself as equally committed to innovation and tradition in what is now its 158th year of existence. Economically speaking, 2020 was a successful, albeit challenging, year for the globally active profile specialist from Römerweg. However, the conviction to further expand sustainability as a value that also makes a difference to the competition has not only grown in the past year. The first successes of the long-term strategy are becoming apparent.
According to a company statement, the company has not only been able to significantly reduce electricity consumption and save an additional 368 tonnes of CO2, but has also been able to return 100 per cent of its metal waste to the recycling loop. For years, the company has been working on improving its sustainability balance sheet with a variety of programmes and measures. Around 150 employees at the two sites in Lüdenscheid and Schalksmühle contribute to this.
The restructuring of workflows and processes, which was completed last year, contributed significantly to the positive annual result. Delivery performance has improved once again. "In addition, we have developed a new, more effective shift model, which we were able to adapt very flexibly to the politically imposed contact restrictions and at the same time to the increased demand. Through this and technical innovations, we have managed to save around 140,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity in production alone - according to the BDEW (German Association of Energy and Water Industries), per capita consumption is around 1400 kWh of electricity per year," summarises Olaf Holtschmidt, authorised signatory and operations manager at Küberit.
"The reduction of electricity consumption, of packaging material, etc., the more efficient use of aluminium, all this also contributes to the fact that not all cost increases directly affect the prices of our products," clarifies Managing Director Udo Ulbrich.
